Contratulations to

Annaleise Carr, who finished her 27 hour, 52-kilometre swim across Lake Ontario shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. Her swim began when she entered the water at Niagara-on-the-Lake at 6:17 p.m. on Saturday.

Annaleise raised $115,000.00 for Camp Trillium, a camp for children with cancer.

Did I mention that Annaleise is 14 years old?

You go girl!!

John Unger and his dog Schoep in Lake Superior.

Schoep is 19 years old and suffers from arthritis and his advanced condition has made it difficult for the aging canine to get any rest.

To ease his pain and help him relax, Unger started taking his best buddy out into the warm water. The gentle rocking motion acts as a sort of therapy and allows Schoep to grab some much-needed shuteye.

Pink Saturday - July 21

Every wish you could have a new house?

I do.

My house is pink. But it is tiny.

It was built just after WWW II by a Polish immigrant.

Lots of character, but it is really a cottage.

I could use one this size!

Happy Pink Saturday!
Thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for hosting our weekly meetings.

The Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge visited a viewing of Team GB and Paralympics GB athlete portraits on exhibition at London's National Portrait Gallery yesterday.

The Duchess is wearing a blue crepe dress by Stella McCartney. Stella has designed a range of clothing Olympic athletes will wear when competing, training and relaxing.

Oh, and the necklace?
By Cartier - featuring five diamond-studded hoops in a pave setting – suggestive of the Olympic symbol - hanging from a gold chain with a ring on each shoulder and another further down on each side.
Cartier calls this "Trinity Necklace".
You can have one too, it sells for £49,000- $77,479.10 Canadian or $76,569.11 US.
A St. James Palace spokesman for the Duchess says
"It's a personal piece which she's had for some time."

I'd like to see the rest of her collection.
