Silver Sunday
It's Silver Sunday and I've been busy cleaning silver....again. It's all Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal's fault ;o). Be sure to visit Beth and all the other ladies who have been busy cleaning their silver. So this is what I cleaned this week.
2 silver spoons that I have no idea what they are used for. The one on the left could be used as a sauce spoon. The one on the right is from my mother-in-law and she used it when she served cranberries. Update: I just visited Susan at Savoring Time in the Kitchen. She has one of these spoons-its a bon-bon spoon. Love it.
My baby fork and spoon set. The spoon at the top is my husband's baby spoon.
Grown-up meat fork and soup spoons to match. I don't know how that happened!
My "still a young child but never used set".
A silver pencil laa dee dah, and my Huckleberry Dog spoon. We ate a lot of cereal to get these spoons. My sister got a Yogi Bear spoon. Boy those were the days when companies gave out the good stuff.
This is a sterling silver wine stopper. My husband, son and I took a trip to Sweden and Denmark. We were shopping on the Stroget (the famous walking street) when we came upon Georg Jensen Silversmith Shop. Well what's a girl to do, I had to go in. And since I collect Roosters, this one was not staying behind.
Our home base on our trip to Scandinavia was Malmo, Sweden. We walked everywhere. Everyday we passed a jewellery store where this Viking and his ship were in the window. Everyday I stopped and looked. He was calling my name. I listened.
This week's jewellery treasure is a handmade sterling silver and pearl bracelet. So much fun to make.
Thank you for visiting. Please come again.
Roosters!
Do you love Roosters? Do you want to win some? Then visit Barb at Bella Vista for your chance to win. Entering might be a waste of time for you though, 'cause those Roosters are mine!

It's Pink Saturday
Today is Pink Saturday! Be sure to visit Beverly, our hostess at How Sweet the Sound
And while you are out visiting you must stop in at Kelley's over at Teacups and Ponies. Kelley does digital collages that just make you want to start a scrapbook with them. I couldn't resist including one here
I've been busy cleaning all my pinks this week!
Limoges plate-a gift from my in-laws
A pink cocktail apron crocheted by my mom. The pink flowered dinner bell was a birthday gift from my sister
A Limoges candy dish - an 17th birthday gift from my sister
An antique butter pat found in the box of goodies my grandmother put together when I was still a child! My hope chest was started early
A vintage Avon perfume jar and a perfume atomizer from my brother
No jewellery picture this week because I have been busy making a special piece to give away! Visit me Wednesday to see what "it" is and how you can win "it"!

A Day at the Museum Part 2
Continuing our tour of the Mineral, Gem and Schmuck Museum
An old jeweller's bench and a diamond polisher
Large pieces of Sodalite
A bird carved from Watermelon tourmaline
This must have been awkward to use but oh so pretty to look at
Carved from various semi-precious stones
This is amethyst as it is found, just waiting to be cut and polished
Everyone needs to have an Fabergé egg of amethyst in their chotke collection
Amethyst jewellery
Flowers carved from semi-precious stones. Oh Honey, I'll take this bouquet for Valentine's Day!
I'd like to thank Ivett for being such a sweetheart in allowing me to share her wonderful pictures.

A Day at the Museum
My son has a friend who is on a university exchange program in Frankfurt, Germany. She visited the Museum Idar-Oberstien.
The sign on the front says Mineralien Edelstein Schmuck meaning Mineral, Gemstone and Jewellery. I love that-Schmuck means jewellery!
Fountain pen, inkwell, letter opener, wax seal stamp
Crystal city scape
Cameos
These are supposed to be the largest cameos in the world!
I've always had a fascination with Cameos
They always have a story to tell
Carved from Agate and Obsidian
Amber
Opal and on the right Aquamarine and Feldspar
Malachite and Rock Crystal
Tourmaline - the smaller pieces on the right are Watermelon Tourmaline
This concludes the first part of our tour. Part two next time.
