Have you seen How Sweet The Sound. Beverly is hosting Pink Saturdays. A lady after my own heart. Pink tops the list as my favourite colour. As a little girl, even my birthday cakes had to be pink.
This plate commissioned for the Pennsylvania German Folklore Society of Ontario was made by Johnson Bros. of England. They were printed in brown, blue and pink. It depicts historical sites in and around the area I live. My mom received a brown one when she married 57 years ago. My sister received a blue one when she married 37 years ago. I was hoping to receive one when I married, but alas, I didn't. A few years ago my husband and I decided to spend $50.00 each on our Christmas gifts to each other. I wanted to search the antique stores for my gift. I set out with a clear mind, knowing once I saw "it" I would know. After an afternoon of visiting all the antiques store in our area, I found "it" in the only store left to visit. As soon as I saw this plate, I knew I had to have it. It looks like it has never been used. And it only cost $47.00.
Now if you know me, you know my life revolves around jewellery. So I can't do Pink Saturday with a picture of pink jewellery. Gorgeous pink Swarovski crystals hanging from handmade earwires.
Welcome to Pink Saturday! Your plate and earrings are gorgeous....so lucky you found the plate you wanted. Have a fantastic Pink Saturday!

Hi Gracie sweetie...
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday. Oh I love your beautiful blog. So many beautiful eye-candy pieces. I love the pink Swarovski crystals. They sparkle and shine like candy devine.
Now those black ones that you had in an older post were also beautiful. They look like one of my outside sun catchers that has a ball, when the wind blows it looks like the ball moves up and down inside of this same shape. I love them. How very pretty.
You do beautiful work sweetie. Just so delicate and beautiful. Thank you for sharing with me.
I have signed up to follow your blog. I can't wait to see what jewelry you share next. How fun it is to see how creative minds work. I am not sure I have that creativity with tiny little pieces like you work with. Please stop by and say hi. I love the company and have a gift of gab. Love it. I would be honored if you choose to sign up and follow my blog as well.
Have a beautiful Saturday sweetie.
Country hugs sweetie, Sherry

Hello and Happy 1st Pink Saturday to you :-)
ReplyDeleteWell I glad to hear you have your very own plate. I've seen these kind of plates which I think looks like paintings of a scenery. They are beautiful and would really make a great collection.
But what caught my eyes are those pair of sparkly earrings LOL. Is that innate in girls?
Mizpah,
Li
Gracie, Welcome to Pink Saturday! What a beautiful plate. I have never heard of the Pa German society of Ontario. I live in Lancaster Pa, the heart of the Pa Dutch ( really German). Did the people of my area migrate to yours years ago. I live in a beautiful area and I know you do to- if the Pa German's migrated to your area they would have been quite at home. I know you have very fertile farmland around Ontario and vineyards and orchards. This plate is so interesting to me!
ReplyDeleteYour jewelery is lovely. Beautiful!
Nice to meet you, and happy pink Saturday.
Yvonne

ReplyDeleteWelcome to Pink Saturday...the plate story is so true of things we were just meant to have...at least that's my version of shoppers logic and buying Karma. You are 100% on track about the jewelry...love your pink earrings...I don't leave the house for my walk or head out to the garden without my earrings...my face looks funny without the balance of a pair of silver loops. Enjoy Pink Saturday today and all year long.
