Where were you September 11, 2001?
I think everyone remembers exactly what they were doing that morning when they heard THE news. I had just shut off my hairdryer when I heard on the radio that a plane had hit the first tower. I quickly turned on CNN just in time to see the second plane coming in. I sat there thinking "What is that pilot thinking?" And then couldn't believe what I saw.
Later on I went outside to sit on my patio. I remember thinking how quiet it was. No traffic noise. No planes in the sky - where I live we see jets starting to descend for landing at the Buffalo Airport. The sun was shining, the sky was a beautiful blue with white fluffy clouds. And it was so quiet. It seemed so surreal.
September 11, 2001 - the day that changed the world.
Canada and the United States share the world's longest continuous border. We could "jump the ditch" without needing a passport. Not anymore. Now we need passports and security passes.
I pray that there is never another "September 11th".
I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.
Thank you to Beverly from How Sweet the Sound" for hosting Pink Saturdays. This week while visiting the other Pinkers be sure to visit Gail at My Tin Shack.
Thank you for visiting. Have a great week.
Happy Pink Saturday Gracie Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteA most beautiful tribute to September 11th today. I too remember the same thing, living in one of the flight paths for the airport here in Phoenix, we see and hear them all day, suddenly the sky stood still. It was so strange. (I too wrote about that in my tribute today.)
Love the simplicity of lighting one little candle. So beautiful Gracie Sweetie. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing with me today. I so love it when you do. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
This is a wonderful tribute. I hope the day treats you well. Have a great Pink Saturday. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteI thought our country and the people would make big changes in their lives after this day. Some just seem to forget much too soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Gracie
ReplyDeleteThis was a touching tribute! I hope we can all do acts of kindness in honor of all those who lost their lives that day and fill the world with love, not hate.
