In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead.
Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Wear your poppy today in honour of all the bygone soldiers who gave their lives so that we may enjoy our freedom today.
Wear your poppy today in honour of all the soldiers that are still fighting to keep our freedom.
Wear your poppy today in honour of all the soldiers that are still fighting to keep our freedom.

Hi:) I just got to sing this poem for an honor choir. It is deeply moving for me. Recently, I chose to use this poem in an assignment for a college class. I would like to use the picture of the soldier looking at the grave with the cross and poppies on it; it also has the poppies in the corners of the picture. I was wondering if their is a copyright on it? And if there is, if I can receive permission to use it? Thanks!
