As a young child I loooooved jewellery.  I was fascinated with it.  How it sparkled, how you felt so grownup wearing it.  So now I have my own little on-line jewellery shop.  I hand stamp sterling silver creating personalized pieces of jewellery.  I also make beaded necklaces and bracelets using sterling silver and genuine gemstone.

Handmade Sterling Silver Amazonite Necklace - Anabel

An asymetrical necklace of Amazonite and sterling silver. A 21mm rhombus-cut* Amazonite, accented with tiny sterling silver beads, and 8mm round Amazonite, handwrapped with Argentium sterling silver, are joined to Argentium sterling silver links. The links have been hand formed and fused closed. Sterling silver oval link chain and a sterling silver lobster clasp finishes off this necklace. The hand formed links are 14mm in diameter. The sterling silver chain is 8 inches in length. Total length of the necklace is 26 inches.

One of my favourite gemstones is the Pearl. I love how a little "irritant" turns into something so beautiful. Combine them with coloured gemstones and you have a timeless piece of jewellery.

Turquoise-colour for 2010 Amazonite

If you follow Pantone, you know the colour for 2010 is turquoise.



This is Amazonite. Such a fabulous shade of turquoise.It is named after the Amazon river in Brazil. But no deposits of it have been found there. The name most likely refers to the variable green shades of the rainforest reflected in the gemstone. Amazonite does not undergo any kind of treatment to enhance its wonderful colour.




All the links are handmade by me from Argentium sterling silver. Argentium sterling silver is sterling silver with less of the copper alloy. Copper is what makes sterling silver tarnish. Argentium is 92.5% pure silver with the balance a mix of germanium and copper. This makes Argentium silver harder, brighter and more highly tarnish resistant than traditional sterling silver. After hand shaping each link I fused them closed, then put them in the tumbler for hours for strength and shine. Even the clasp has been handmade.











I had so much fun making the links and these necklaces, I plan of doing several pieces in this style.

Several years ago I went into the hair salon and the owner of the establishment was wearing a hat that said "bad hair day". Not something you want to see on the person cutting your hair. I recently read an article when the writer suggests "bad hair day" earrings. Earrings that are big enough to take the focus off your hair.

So these are my "Bad Hair Day" Earrings.



Completely handmade, these earrings were worked using just my hand and my pliers.



The large 20mmx30mm stone is Amazonite a wonderful blue-green stone with white striations.
