Pink Saturday - August 20

For years, 31 years 10 months and 3 weeks to be exact, I have been looking for a big comfy arm chair.

You know the kind.

Overstuffed.
Soft.
The kind that feel like a warm hug when you sink into it.
A great place to read or maybe nap.

Today I found my chair!

And for only $13517.00 it can be mine!!!!
Yes you read that right, there are 5 numbers BEFORE the decimal point!

Guess I'll be looking for a while yet.

Happy Pink Saturday! Thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for hosting our Pink Saturday meetings.

Thanks for visiting!

Pink Saturday - June 4

Happy Pink Saturday!

The day all lovers of
Pink meet at Miss Beverly's How Sweet the Sound

This week I am showing off a bit. I recently started doing hand stamped jewellery and I love it. Something so satisfying about using a hammer in a forceful way :>)

Being the girlie girl I am I just had to do something with pearls and pink swarovski crystal

And I only use sterling silver

And I know every girl, big or small would love her own tiara

I've added a new page Say it in Silver and I will be adding a lot of fun pieces in the next couple days.

And just a note - last weekend I visited everyone for our Pink Saturday Birthday celebrations. Unfortunately Blogger muted me! I would click the Post a Comment line and nothing happened. So frustrating! Did anyone else experience this?

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting.

Countdown to the Royal Wedding - Pink Saturday

Welcome to the Gracie Jewellery countdown to the Royal Wedding- Part 9
6 Days to go.

With thanks to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting our weekly meeting.

The magnificent white lily known as the Easter Lily has long stood as a symbol of purity, hope, innocence and peace. Also called the Bermuda lily, the Trumpet lily, and Jacob's Tears, the Easter lily is a biblical flower commonly associated with the resurrection of Christ.

In Christian tradition, the Easter lily signifies rebirth and a new beginning. It is said that beautiful white lilies sprang up in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus wept in the last hours before he was betrayed by Judas. Another legend claims that the white lilies grew from the repentant tears shed by Eve upon her departure from Paradise.

The lily is mentioned frequently throughout the bible and serves today as a beautiful reminder of the significance of the Easter season.

Wishing all of you a very Happy Easter.

And now to the Pink Part of this Post

The future Queen of England - Catherine Middleton - looking smashing in pink.

Pink Saturday July 17

Welcome to Pink Saturday. Special thanks to our hostess Beverly from How Sweet the Sound for organizing the weekly meeting of the Pink.

Rose quartz is one of the most desirable varieties of quartz. The pink to rose red color is completely unique, unlike any other pink mineral species. The color is caused by iron and titanium impurities.

Rose quartz is found in Madagascar, India, Germany, in the USA. Most of the worlds supply of good quality rose quartz comes from Brazil.

So now your mission for this Pink Saturday is to visit every one of the other Pinkers-last week 171 of us. C'mon its Saturday, what else are you gonna do? If you can't visit everyone at least make the trip to Amy's at vintage porcelain art. She actually paints all of the items she shows. I haven't seen a piece I didn't like.

Thanks for visiting.

Pink Saturday July 10

It's Pink Saturday, the day we celebrate all things PINK. Thank you to Beverly from How Sweet the Sound who hosts this phenom every week.

A couple weeks ago I showed this Rhodocrosite bracelet.

I loved the look of the Rhodocrosite in the hand formed links so much I made a pair of earrings to match.

I think I will sell this as a set in my shop Gracie Jewellery

This week I am asking everyone to visit Peggy at My Affairs with Art & Daily Life. Peggy's husband Norm has had a stroke and I have been visiting Peggy everyday to see how he is doing. Please take a moment to visit and say a Prayer for Norm and Peggy.

Have a safe week and please drop by again.

Pink Saturday June 26

The last Pink Saturday in June! Where did the month go? Thank you to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting our weekly gathering of Pinkaholics.

This week my entry is short and sweet

A bracelet using one of my favourite pink stones - rhodocrosite

Button shaped beads hand wired to hand formed Argentium Sterling Silver links that have been fused closed. I love the variation of pinks in these beads.

Last week while randomly clicking on all the Pinker Links listed at How Sweet the Sound I found Olivia at Olivia's Romantic Home. I had a lovely visit.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you next week.

Pink Saturdays!

Have you seen How Sweet The Sound. Beverly is hosting Pink Saturdays. A lady after my own heart. Pink tops the list as my favourite colour. As a little girl, even my birthday cakes had to be pink.

This plate commissioned for the Pennsylvania German Folklore Society of Ontario was made by Johnson Bros. of England. They were printed in brown, blue and pink. It depicts historical sites in and around the area I live. My mom received a brown one when she married 57 years ago. My sister received a blue one when she married 37 years ago. I was hoping to receive one when I married, but alas, I didn't. A few years ago my husband and I decided to spend $50.00 each on our Christmas gifts to each other. I wanted to search the antique stores for my gift. I set out with a clear mind, knowing once I saw "it" I would know. After an afternoon of visiting all the antiques store in our area, I found "it" in the only store left to visit. As soon as I saw this plate, I knew I had to have it. It looks like it has never been used. And it only cost $47.00.

Now if you know me, you know my life revolves around jewellery. So I can't do Pink Saturday with a picture of pink jewellery. Gorgeous pink Swarovski crystals hanging from handmade earwires.
