Welcome to Pink Saturday. Special thanks to our hostess Beverly from How Sweet the Sound for organizing the weekly meeting of the Pink.




Rose quartz is one of the most desirable varieties of quartz. The pink to rose red color is completely unique, unlike any other pink mineral species. The color is caused by iron and titanium impurities.



Rose quartz is found in Madagascar, India, Germany, in the USA. Most of the worlds supply of good quality rose quartz comes from Brazil.




So now your mission for this Pink Saturday is to visit every one of the other Pinkers-last week 171 of us. C'mon its Saturday, what else are you gonna do? If you can't visit everyone at least make the trip to Amy's at vintage porcelain art. She actually paints all of the items she shows. I haven't seen a piece I didn't like.

Freshwater Pearls and Coloured Gemstones

One of my favourite gemstones is the Pearl. I love how a little "irritant" turns into something so beautiful. Combine them with coloured gemstones and you have a timeless piece of jewellery.





Amethyst and Freshwater Pearls on a sterling silver oval link chain. The amethyst is a rich dark purple, the pearls are white, luminous and smooth. Securely and easily closes with a sterling silver "S" clasp. Total length 18 inches. $34.00

Sodalite

Sodalite is found in various shades of blue and is related to Lapis. As the name suggests, it is partly composed of sodium. It is found in various locations throughout the world, most notably Canada, the United States, Russia and Greenland, where it was discovered in the early 19th century. It has also been referred to as "Princess Blue" after Princess Patricia who was so enthralled with it upon a visit to Canada that she requested it to be used as architectural detailing for the interior of Marlborough House in England. Found in Canada, Italy, Brazil, India, Greenland,Russia, Namibia, and Montana and Nevada in the US.

Trapezoid-cut Sodalite alternates with round Sodalite on a sterling silver figaro chain. Securely closes with a sterling silver "S" clasp. Simply stunning! Total length 18 inches, 20 inches to the bottom of the sodalite. $34.00

Botswana Agate

Botswana Agate gets its name from the only known source of this beautiful and interesting gemstone Botswana, Africa. With beautiful swirls and or bands Botswana Agate is typically a pastel blend of brown, cream, white and pink and is often semi-translucent.

Pink Saturday July 10

It's Pink Saturday, the day we celebrate all things PINK. Thank you to Beverly from How Sweet the Sound who hosts this phenom every week.



A couple weeks ago I showed this Rhodocrosite bracelet.



I loved the look of the Rhodocrosite in the hand formed links so much I made a pair of earrings to match.
